Flair tried wriggling free put the little wing-less had a tight grip.

"Mommy! I found a little birdie!"

The wing-less said. A female wing-less turned around the screamed. The little wing-less was startled into loosening her grip. Flair took her chance and jumped out. She jumped into the air and started flying as fast as she could. When she was sure that she was high enough she looked down. The adult wing-less was walking away, the little one in its grip. She then started looking for Jake. after several hours she saw him in a pine tree in a little area she knew was called Park.

" You escaped! I thought you where long gone."

Jake said.

" I'm here, but hungry'

she said. Flair soon found a worm hidden in the soft dark brown dirt.

It was almost dark, so she picked up a few twigs and made a quick nest to sleep in.

5.The zoo.

"They flew over the busy and crowded streets of the "York New".
" The wing-less's need to pick up their litter!"Exclaimed Flair as she picked up a piece of paper and dropped it in the hollow metal tree.
"I wonder why they call it York New?..........What is a york?!"Jake said as he ducked out of the way of a pigeon.
Maybe it's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.........................thing they eat?"She said as a wing-less dropped a curly brown thing.
"Maybe that's a york!"Jake said as he tasted it.
"It's yummy!No wonder wing-less's named this hollow metal forest after it!"She said taking another bite."We can't eat a lot of it though,my mother always said that if you eat to much wing-less food you will get REALLY sick."
"Ok,I wonder why they added the "new" part?Jake said.
" What if it was new a long time ago?"Flair reasoned as she flew past a wing-less giving a paper to another wing-less.
Look!Lunch!"Jake said as he swooped down by a bush and pulled out a worm,slurping it up with glee.
"Thank goodness I am really hungry!"She swooped down and quickly ate five worms.
"That was good."
"Look at that bird!It can speak wing-less!I heard it!"Jake said as he flew over to look at it.It had a rainbow of feathers,and a black beak.
" What kind of bird are you?"asked Flair.
"I am a parrot,I am originally from the rain forest.My name is Il Capitano."he said proudly.
"Does it rain a lot there?Flair asked .
"It does,I must go know.The wing-less's want to see my wonderful beauty.He said as he flew off.
"We better go."Said Flair.Then a little wing-less picked her up then did a loud squeal as she ran to the adult wing-less.
"Oh no!"Screeched Jake as he hid behind a exotic flower.

4.Jake

"Who are you?"she said as the jay swiftly landed on a tree.
He put her down in a nest.It had a only a few feathers here and there but it was comfortable.
"Whats your name?asked Flair.
"My name is Jake,did you live on the far side of the forest?"Jake asked as he ate a bug.
"I did,but the monsters destroyed it.Ever since I left i have been caught,carried,or chased.....Thanks for helping me.Sorry if a I have been rude."She said as she stretched her wings.
That's alright,my home was destroyed too,but it was a longs time ago when i was just a chick."
" I "m sorry,I didn't know."she said as she cuddled up against the warn nest.
" It's okay,just get some rest.i will get something to eat in the morning."He said as he fell asleep next to her.


"Wake up sleepy feathers,I brought you some breakfast."Jake said as he nudged her with his wing.
"Good cause I'm hungry!Flair said .Jake dropped some worms at her feet,she quickly took a few worms and gobbled them up.
"I was wondering..."Said Jake after he finished his worms.
"Can i come with you?I over heard the wing-less's talking about tearing down this tree.After the tear it down,I won't know where to go.Can I please come with you?
"Sure,why not?I have no family or friends because they had to fly of in a hurry."Flair said as she jumped of the tree and started flying west.
"Hurry up!Who is being the lazy feathers know?"She said with a laugh.
"I'm coming!"Jake said as he jumped of the tree and flew to her side.

Chapter 3.The hunter

"Goooooooood Moooooooooooooorning ."Whora hooted as Flair stretched her wings .
"How did your hunting go ?I was asleep before you came in ."Flair said eating a worm that Whora had hunted for her .
"Huuuuuuuuuuunting Goooooooooooooooood .Spriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing is neeeeeeeeeeeear ."
Flair jumped at this wonderful news .She said good bye to Whora and thanked her for the great hospitality .
Weeeeeeeeeee shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllll meeeeeeeeeeeeeeet agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiin !!!!!!!!Whora hooted as Flair flew out of the barn ,flying north .
Flair sang with happiness ,for spring was here .
"There shall be plenty of new plants ,and tree,s to live in !"She sang while flying on the wind.
A few seconds later she heard a loud BANG !
"What was that !"She screeched .
Then something small and shiny flew past her ,hitting the tip of her wing .
"Owwwwwwww !!!!!!!!!!!!!!"Flair yelled as she started falling .She looked down to see a wing-less
in green and brown ,it blended in with the plants and other things around him .
"A hunter !!!!!"She screamed trying to fly away from the hunter .
The hunter screamed something ,that sounded like laughter .
"Oh no !"She screamed ,tears fling down her cheeks .
She only had a few more seconds till she hit the ground , or caught by a dog .
She prepared herself for the worst when something caught her .It wasn't a dog or a hunter .They cant fly .She looked up and saw another bird !A blue jay !
"Don't move your wing ."The jay called while lifting her higher ,away from the evil hunter .

2.Whora the great barn owl

Flair woke up to a ravens call .It's Caw Caw!was not very pretty ,but very loud and scratchy.
Flair slowly heaved herself out of bed .She unfurled her wings,giving them a good stretch .
"Time to go"said Flair as she jumped off the branch .She beat her wings wildly for a second,then slowed down to her regular beat .She angled her wings south .A loud growl startled her ,but she then realized it was her stomach .She spotted a nearly plump worm beside a barn .She swooped down and grabbed it.Eating it in one bite .
"Whooo Whooo,sss there?"A voice said inside the barn .
"I am Fliar,a yellow cardinal .My home was destroyed by evil monsters ."Flair was not sure to trust this bird quite yet ,but she hoped that it wasn't angry.
"I am Whoooooooora,a Barn Owwwwwwwwwwwwwlllll ."
Flair was happy at this news.owls are wise,they are freainds of the cardinals .
"Yoooooooooooooouuuuuuu are weeeeeeeelcome to stay for the night ."Whora said .
"Thank you ."Flair made a nest ,there was a lot of hay around so it was very comfortable .
She fell asleep as the owl left to catch her meal .

1.The nest

Her wings beat wildly. Trying to stay in the air. Her heart was pounding like a wood peckers beak. She did not slow down." Why did those claws have to destroy?" She thought. They always had to do that. But this time it went too far. Her home, the only place she thought safe, was lying on the ground broken into pieces. She screeched a wild cardinal call, warning the creatures around her for the terrible danger coming.

"I have to get out of here!", said Flair as she moved quickly upward, roaring into the sky.
The scared cardinal looked down, then quickly turned away as she saw the destroyed forest. Hundreds of oaks and pines lay down in splinters. Animals running for their lives. It was too much. She started to fly South, away from the dying forest. The sun was setting quickly. She had to land somewhere soon .

"I wonder...", the cardinal started to say when an eagle flew right past her, knocking her off balance.

" Watch out !", she screamed at the eagle. She wasn't in the mood to chase it right now. Flair then spotted a big oak thirteen duck feet away from her . She moved her sun yellow wings downward and flew toward the great tree. Flair gathered some sticks to build a make shift nest. "This will have to do. ", Flair said as she nestled down . Then she fell asleep to the branches swinging in the breeze .
